About the Writer

My name is James Connell and I am a 20 year old student studying for a BA in Literature at the University of Sheffield. I am due to begin my final year in September, and though I’ve spent most of the last two years in this post-industrial city with all of its damn hills, I spent the first eighteen years of my life in Islington, London (though born and braised in Hackney).

This blog is where I shall jot down all of my cricket related thoughts. I’ve been obsessed with the sport since 2004 and was a minor legend on my estate and at my secondary school (well, to a a select group of 3, or 4) due to my obdurate, Tavaré-esque defence and dubious offspinners which were supplemented with a sometime accurate (and hopefully legal) doosra.

I am a cricket tragic and do my best to capture the sublime, ephiphonic moments one experiences when playing/watching the game. That sounded nice didn’t it?

My dream is to become a novelist, though I’d love to write about cricket and get paid for doing so as well.

Please read and enjoy my writing, if you do, please spread this space to any and everyone. Also feel free to get in touch, you can find me on twitter (@Merryberry21) or just comment here. Thank you.
